What do you think?

Is this how Michelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel?

Our Home: A Construction Site!

Yes, there is still a lot going on at our house. We're counting down the days, weeks, and possibly months of seeing our little baby for the first time and bringing him or her home. So, in the meantime we're still hard at work getting everything ready! If you remember back to our July 15th post, Josh had to put the work on our new railing upstairs to a halt as a leak in the downstairs bathroom (and a subsequent remodel!) took priority. Well, our new railing is now finished! I believe the only thing left is for it to be polyurethaned.

So, work has now been started on the nursery! Now, gone are the ugly blue walls that came with the house when we bought it. Previous to now, we had not done anything to this room, except strip it of the carpet when the rest of the house was being de-rugged!!! We had actually been using it for storage, so everything that could went up into our attic.

Once again, it was a blessing that Josh ripped down the drywall, as he discovered that the window was rotting out and was barely attached to anything. Of course, that also meant that we had to install another window! So, it is currently being spackled and will soon be on the road to being painted!!! Yay!

And although the rest of our house looks like a construction site, the downstairs (until this last weekend!) was starting to really come together. Especially as the curtains that I'd been working on with my friend, Debbie, have finally been completed! Here's a picture of the Roman shades and you can see the other curtains in our last post behind where I am standing. So, that is very exciting!

However, if I took a picture of our living room right now, it would look very different! It is currently taken over with baby things as my family and friends surprised me this Saturday with a baby shower. It was the most lovely shower ever! I just love my family and friends. Thanks to everyone, especially my families who did a lot of work to make it possible!! I love you all!!!
